For product marketing and launch teams
Launch on your date.
Trace the copy that went early.
Lookbooks, embargoed decks, pricing sheets and press kits go to retailers, press and agencies weeks before launch. ExactMark gives each partner a recipient-linked copy and each portal session a covert spatial signal. When a hero shot or a price surfaces early, Evidence Lab names the most likely source, or tells you honestly that the result is inconclusive.
- Recipient-linked copiesOne upload becomes a unique copy for each retailer, journalist or agency.
- One script tag for the portalProtect the partner and press portal without installing an agent.
- Attribution or inconclusiveEvidence Lab returns a most likely source with a confidence score, or says it cannot.
- Evidence report includedEvery case produces a downloadable, branded PDF report.
The problem
An embargo is only as strong as the weakest inbox.
Weeks before launch, the same hero shot, lookbook and price sheet sit in dozens of places: a retailer's planning deck, a journalist's downloads folder, an agency's shared drive, an internal channel. A screenshot of the pricing page or a forwarded PDF is all it takes, and the leak is live on social media before your team has finished the morning stand-up.
When that happens, the usual response is a blanket email to every partner and a guess. Relationships are strained, the launch narrative is lost, and nobody learns anything for the next embargo.
The ExactMark answer
Attribution, not prevention.
ExactMark does not try to stop a partner from screenshotting or forwarding. Instead, each partner receives a copy that is theirs alone, carrying a covert spatial signal plus signed, non-identifying file metadata. Signed-in sessions on your portal get a session-specific signal too.
When a leak appears, Evidence Lab correlates it against the candidate copies and sessions and returns the most likely source with ranked candidates, or an honest inconclusive result. You get a documented, defensible answer, and partners know that every copy can be traced.
See the three stepsHow it works
Three steps from upload to answer.
-
01
Upload the asset, name the partners
In ExactMark Imprint, upload one PNG, JPG, WEBP or PDF. Add each retailer, journalist or agency by hand, or import a CSV of up to 100 recipients. Download each recipient copy individually or as a single ZIP.
-
02
Send copies, protect the portal
Each copy carries the spatial signal, signed non-identifying metadata and an opaque filename reference. PDFs keep their original content and text. For your press or partner portal, add one script tag and call
exactmark.identify(...)for the signed-in viewer. -
03
If something surfaces, ask Evidence Lab
Upload the leaked screenshot, image or PDF, or forward it to your Web App's private evidence email address. The detector searches across crop, scale, rotation, colour and compression, then returns the most likely source with a confidence score and ranked candidates, or an inconclusive result.
Capabilities
Built for the way launch assets actually travel.
ExactMark Imprint
Workspace-level tool for recipient-linked copies of product photography, lookbooks, decks and price sheets. Bulk up to 100 recipients per upload via CSV.
Web Sessions
One script tag renders a low-opacity, session-specific, redundant tiled signal over your partner portal. Covert by default, with visible and combined modes. The SDK never captures or records the page.
Evidence Lab
Upload or email a leaked file. Get the most likely source, a confidence score and ranked candidates, or an honest inconclusive result. Cases keep workflow state, notes and the original asset.
Branded PDF evidence report
Every case can be exported as a downloadable, branded report you can share with legal, leadership or the partner concerned.
Team roles and access
Owner, Admin, Developer, Analyst and Viewer roles, invitations, and per-Web-App access so the launch team, PR and legal each see what they need.
EU hosting and encryption
Hosted in Dublin with Supabase in Ireland. Forensic data is protected with application-level AES-256-GCM encryption. Only submitted evidence files are ever received.
FAQ
Straight answers for launch teams.
ExactMark is an attribution and deterrence product. It is not DRM, screenshot prevention or spyware, and we do not claim a mark can never be removed.
Does ExactMark stop partners from screenshotting the lookbook?
No. Nothing stops a determined person from photographing a screen. ExactMark tells you which partner copy or session the leaked image most likely came from, and the knowledge that every copy is traceable is itself a deterrent.
Will retailers or journalists see a mark on their copy?
The signal is covert by default: a low-opacity, redundant tiled pattern that is not meant to be noticed. Visible and combined modes are available if you want a clear reminder on the page.
Does a marked PDF still work as a normal press kit?
Yes. PDFs keep their original content and text. Each copy also carries signed, non-identifying metadata and an opaque filename reference, so nothing in the file names the recipient in plain text.
What if the leak is a cropped, recompressed image from a messaging app?
The detector normalises the image and searches across crop position, continuous scale, small rotation, colour, brightness and compression. Screenshots at different resolutions, browser zoom, resizing and messaging-app recompression are typical cases. If there is not enough signal, Evidence Lab says so rather than guessing.
Can we keep partner names out of ExactMark?
Yes. Viewer and recipient identifiers can be pseudonymised, and the mapping from pseudonym to partner can stay with you. ExactMark only ever receives the evidence files you submit.
Your next launch deserves a source behind every copy.
